Seattle and the North West

It's been a bit quiet on the blog, the reason being that we took a bit of time to spend in Seattle and it was better to put it all into one entry than doing tiny ones each day.

The first few days we spent with Daisy and David in Bonney Lake, friends from the Agility world who were kind enough to share their home and time with us. This also meant we got to spend some time with their dogs, I think we both miss our furballs a lot the more time passes.

One of the days we spent driving and checking out Mt Rainier. Unfortunately my memory card packed it in halfway through so the photos are limited. The upside is the existing photos on the card were retrievable and the card is working again, phew. We did a bit of a hike through icefields and Simone fought the urge to make an iceball and throw it at me :)

Early Dinner at Lecosho. This is the salmon I had.

Simone's halibut

The farro - delicious!

Dessert at the Pike St Markets

We also did some other touristy stuff like checking out Pike St markets, which is like the Freo markets on steroids. Heaps of stores, plenty of food outlets and produce sellers. We also went to the movies to see The Dark Knight Rises and saw Florence & The Machine perform in Auburn. Before making our way to Las Vegas and before the concert we headed out to the Boeing Museum of Flight:

We had lunch at The Rock Wood Fired Pizza in Auburn. It's a small franchise that only exists in a few states and they were all surprised to see tourists in their restaurant, especially from Australia :)
Very friendly service, good food and we got a discount on the bill as well.

BBQ chicken wings

Skillet cookie with ice cream - on the house :)
