Comic-Con Last Day - Waiting in Line for Hall H

Today Simone went out to line up for the Hall H panels at just after midnight. The first panel starts at 10am but due to the high demand people start lining up the evening before! So by the time Simone got there there were already hundreds of people there. I joined her at 5am.

We got let into the hall about 30 mins before the official start time and we were a fair way away from the stage, but could still see fairly well. The first panel was for Fringe. The next one was the Supernatural panel. Simone will cover these a lot more in her blog :)

In the afternoon I did another run around the convention before we made our way to the Nerd HQ panel with Jared Padalecki, organised by Zach Levi (from the TV show Chuck). This was on a hole smaller scale and much better suited for a Q&A session.

Then after Italian for dinner we went back to the hotel for an early night before flying to Seattle tomorrow.

San Diego Comic-Con First Day

This post is mostly gonna be a photo dump. Simone and I were able to both get into the con one after the other so I was able to check it out today too, which was great. The event is so big it's hard to describe - every business within a certain radius from the convention center is in one way or the other geared towards the comic-con crowd. It's all very commercial and I guess some people may see it as exploitative. I believe with the growth of this event over the past few years it will have to be split up into the comic part and then the entertainment part. It's just ridiculous what you have to go through just to get tickets to this event and people are not going to put up with this if it gets worse and worse due to a steadily increasing crowd.

The weird and wonderful were on full show, it's heaven for any attention seekers. There are the religious nutters outside, the sparsely dressed girls who lap up the attention they get from photographers, and of course just the weirdos who all of a sudden are not THAT weird anymore.
