Franklin and the road to Chicago

One of the stops on our way to Chicago was the small town of Franklin, just south of Nashville, Tennessee. A really neat and clean little country town. Lots of Christian signs.

We went to this place called Puckett's Grocery And Restaurant. Twice! Once in the evening and then the following morning for brunch. A great place with good food.

Smoked, grilled sausage with cheese and crackers.

BBQ pulled pork with potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans.

Philly cheese sandwich with sweet potato fries for Simone.

Salmon burger for me for brunch. Simone had pancakes and bacon & eggs.

One night, Simone's HTC phone decided it was not gonna display anything anymore. After much fiddling around I got the screen to work again, much duller and at lower res. So it was clear that the phone was on the way out. I backed up all her stuff of the phone and she started looking into what her new phone would be. Basically it was between the iPhone 5 or the Samsung Galaxy S3. In the end, she got a great deal on the Galaxy S3 by getting money for the HTC taken off the price for the S3.

Simone loves her new phone :) I cant believe she has a better phone than me now!
Kudos to the guy at the AT&T store who was very helpful, transferred her contacts over and gave us a good deal on the buyback for the old HTC.

After we arrived in Chicago we went to dinner with Irene, Simone's friend, for a classic Chicago dish: deep pan pizza! It's very different from traditional pizza, and you can only have a slice or two. The dough is more like a cake dough, it's crumbly.

The second night we just wanted to go somewhere close by, so we chose TGI Fridays. The food was good, the service was a bit weird. There was confusion about giving tables to people, there was confusion about which waiter would serve us. We had our order taken twice, even when we informed the waiter we already gave our order to the other person. Obviously there are some management issues here.
